It’s virtually impossible to sum up a career this diverse and prolific on one page. Darryl Rhoades is an entertainer with a history.
Since 1988 he has performed over 150 shows annually while touring comedy clubs in the U.S., Canada and the Carribean. His wide range of material appeals to audiences from colleges to corporate; from military to casinos and has garnered rave reviews from the likes of Playboy, The Village Voice, and Performance Magazines prompting Rolling Stone/MTV critic Kurt Loder to proclaim him….”one of the most savagely gifted writer/performers in the country today”.
As a prolific writer and performer, Darryl has released twelve comedy/music albums featuring performances from members of groups such as The Georgia Satellites, Winger, The Producers, Jellyfish, The Dregs, The Delbert McClinton Band, The Peabo Bryson Band, Sheryl Crow, The Atlanta Rhythm Section and many others.
His comedy material has been showcased on national and regionally syndicated radio shows such as John Boy & Billy and Dr. Demento, XM Satellite Comedy Channel and National Lampoon Radio Hour. His compositions have been recorded by other artists and have been featured in such movies as the 1989 Jim Varney release Fastfood and the Sex Pistols Rockumentary…D.O.A. Appeared in the movie “Crazy Heart” with Jeff Bridges, Robert Duvall, Maggie Gyllenhaal & Colin Farrell which was released in the fall of 2009.
Working a remarkable fifty one weeks a year since 1988, his live show can be best described as very original and highly energetic using multiple personalities, rapid fire delivery, and satirical music.
